SCL Elections can send a specialist research team into a country at short notice to conduct specific or extensive Target Audience Analysis to provide an accurate assessment of both voter attitudes and more importantly, of current and future voter behaviour.

We offer our clients carefully constructed scientific research and analysis on target audience groups based on both direct methods, such as door-to-door polling, telephone interviews, in-depth interviews and online questionnaires; and indirect methods, such as the collection of third party statistical data, Internet-based investigations and other observable data. Opinion Polling

We provide our clients with research based on both traditional electoral polling instruments, such as interviews conducted in person, over the phone or online, and on qualitative instruments, such as in-depth interviews, expert interviews, focus groups discussions and video interviews. Through this process we are able to provide a greater degree of accuracy and depth – vastly increasing the reliability of our data. Such research targets attitudes and seeks to identify perceptions of candidates, political parties and the core issues involved in any given election. Combined with our other research products, it can help to provide a fully comprehensive picture of the political landscape and the problems facing a client. 

Household Canvassing

SCL Elections has developed its own proprietary software to provide advanced audience datamining. We have the ability to identify and monitor, either by telephone call centre, or door-to-door (with digital PDA polling tools that upload responses in real time), demographic and attitudinal traits that can be assigned to individuals and groups of individuals to predict their behaviour. This allows us to disseminate extremely targeted messages, designed to elicit specific responses from the target audience. 

Household Canvassing – India Only

For the Indian political market, SCL Elections incorporates into its household canvassing a rigorous analysis of the electorate’s caste structure, at booth, panchayat, block and assembly level. This will include not only delineation of caste, but also details of the family structure and voting propensity. This data is collected in addition to the demographic and political data collected above before the development of the algorithms required for cluster segmentation and analysis is commenced. 

Target Audience Analysis

Organisation Management 

As part of our micro-targeting process we are able to gather extremely accurate information about the relationship hierarchies that exist within each village, town, neighbourhood and district of each constituency (see GOTV below). Using proprietary software, we are able to model this data to develop communication systems for both gathering and disseminating information from Party Head/Candidate to voter, and vice vera. This allows for unprecedented insight into the day-to-day issues that are affecting the electorate, essentially creating a real-time picture (informed by the actual voters themselves) that helps identify problem areas and enable time critical strategic decision-making. 

Media Research & Monitoring

We provide our clients with research on both national and international media, which can be used both to enhance election messages and responses, and to develop effective media strategies. Media research collates media and press information from all channels affecting the election process and which drive public opinion both at home and abroad. 

Competitive Intelligence / Opposition Research

We provide our clients with research about opposition perception, progress and strategy, with the aim of identifying opposition campaign weaknesses. This will include information about all probable candidates, their perception among the electorate and their probable impact on the election, including organisation, structure and campaign team. Such research provides a more effective understanding of the relative strengths and weaknesses of an opposition political party and its candidates, which can then be exploited to our client’s electoral advantage.
